18 Years & Over - Free & Fee Paying Training

We have opportunities for adult students to develop the skills to move into higher education or to enter or re-enter the workforce.

Youth Guarantee Programmes
In 2016 FREE Youth Guarantee Programmes are now available to 18-19 year olds (as well as 16-17 year olds) under the Youth Guarantee Initiative.  These popular 44 week programmes give students a qualification at Level 1-3 of the National Qualifications Framework in a vocational field such as barista training, cookery, retail, sport and recreation, outdoors and salon support.

Fee Paying Specialist Training Programmes
We offer Equestrian Training at the National Equestrian Academy based at Community College North Canterbury. The two programmes are Stable Procedures and Preliminary Coaching and run for 31 weeks full time beginning in February. These fee paying programmes provide the opportunity to obtain Level 3 National Certificates, and these qualifications are well recognised in the equine industry in New Zealand.

Free Job Connection Programmes
Our Job Connection Programmes are designed for people wanting to enter or re-enter the workforce and who need to gain skills in their area of career choice. Programmes range from 12 - 26 weeks in length and will help you develop the work habits, skills and attributes that employers want. These programmes are available free of charge to NZ residents registered with and referred by Work & Income.  Programmes are not qualifications based but focussed on the skills required to obtain suitable employment.
