Literacy and Numeracy

Literacy and numeracy can be a stumbling block for many learners and workers.

What does it mean?
All of our full time programmes provide support and assistance
in reading, writing and number, relevant to your training.
Students entering full time study at ComCol undertake an assessment of strengths and weaknesses in literacy and
numeracy and progress assessments take place later in the
study programme. Progress is reported in individual learning plans with goals set to develop skills in these areas.

Tutor Support
We ensure that our tutors are supported in integrating literacy and numeracy into their programmes, by providing relevant and regular professional development, training and resources.

Vocational Specific Resources
Each college has a wide range of resources designed to meet the standards of industry-specific workplaces.
These facilities may include commercial kitchens, hairdressing salons, equestrian facilities, computer suites, vans for field trips, plus cafes and student social spaces.
